Role Overview

A Permit Agent is responsible for coordinating, processing, and managing permit applications to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. The role acts as a liaison between internal departments, clients and regulatory agencies.

 

Key Responsibilities

- Review and process permit applications for accuracy and regulatory compliance.

- Coordinate approval workflows with internal teams and government agencies.

- Maintain detailed permit tracking records, status updates, fees, and renewal dates.

- Prepare documentation for hearings, inspections, and audits.

- Facilitate resolution of compliance issues and inspection findings.

- Build and maintain relationships with regulatory agency personnel.

Required Skills & Competencies

- Strong understanding of permitting regulations and compliance requirements.

- Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.

- Clear written and verbal communication abilities.

- Ability to read and interpret technical documents and regulatory codes.

- Proficiency with permitting software and Microsoft Office.

- Strong problem‑solving and customer‑service mindset.

 

Qualifications

- Experience in permitting required.

- Experience with RULIS (Right-of-Way Leasing Information Systems) preferred.
